😸Introduction: Padlet & Collaboration

(From: Bing images)
As an English teacher, are you aware of the importance of collaboration in the students' learning life? Or have you found it a little difficult to organise students to work closely? Now let me introduce you a great app: Padlet which can help you and your students in many different ways.
😊What is Padlet?
Padlet is an easy-to-learn online tool for users cooperating, sharing ideas. In the field of education, it is also regarded as an instructional tool between teachers and students. Padlet can be applied to ask questions and collects feedback or responses. One common mode in the classroom is that the teacher poses a question about a topic, and then the students collaborate to give their thoughts as many as possible.
😏Why Padlet in English Class?
Padlet is very effective in the aspect of motivation and collaboration. Firstly, it benefits those shy and introverted students who are reluctant to utter their puzzles and answer teachers' questions in class. Through Padlet, they can just type their thoughts and share them on the Internet. Secondly, Padlet promotes collaboration among students. By sharing their ideas, students can finish a task together and also gain different ideas from their peers.
😉How it works?
In this section, a video deprived from You tube is suggested to view in order to help you learn how to use it in the English classroom.
👸An authentic example of using Padlet in classroom for teaching children grammar 'present tense'.

In this class, the teacher adds question via Padlet: "What do you do in your daily life?" Then the students are expected to answer the questions such as "I run in the park". It is a very easy but useful way for students to practise the grammar 'simple present tense'. What's more, they are allowed to embed pictures and other items into the platform, in which way students can be motivated and their interest can be respected. Thirdly, through Padlet, they can view what their peers add, which affords children more opportunities to language input and learn from each other.
😂 Limitations of Padlet
From my point of view, one one hand, this tool allows students' brainstorming and give them chance to express themselves. On the other hand, this may bring the result that too much information is gathered in the limited space and thus cause inconvenience for them browsing. because of this, the small-size class is recommended.
