Is Ozge Karaogle's blog beneficial for the teachers of chlidren?

WEEK 1 My review on ELT blog

In my first blog, I am going to review "Ozge karaogle's blog about edtech, apps, web tools and being a teachpreneur".  As an non-native English teacher, she can give me some sound advice about how to teach young learners.

🙇Her blog:

😊Organisation and Layout

The main page is divided into three sections: a picture on the top,  a menu bar and three introductions of  apps for young learners.

In terms of this picture,  it clearly illustrates the key words of this blog such as app, teacher, which enables the audience to have a rough understanding about the theme.

Visitors are allowed to browse 6 pages related to the author's personal information,  contact way, her rewards and nominations, mobile applications, projects and publishings and her workshops and traingings.

Then the author used three paragraphs to introduce three apps for young learners. these apps are presented in chronological order. the first one: androidify yourself is the most updated one.

😋Content and Features

  💗content:

The content of the blog is mainly about as an English teacher, how to teach children by motivating them. Taking the primary section as an example, it provides the visitors three stimulating apps for enhancing children's learning motivation. Furthermore, the audience can use the web links to access another pages for more detailed information about the apps.

  💘features:

the most obvious feature of the blog is that it aims for young learners. Thus, the whole blog seems colourful and relaxing.
Also, it makes combination of words and pictures. The images play important role especially when linked to her previous "projects and publishings" about some designed games for children as below shown.

😘Ease of use and Navigation
Totally, as a google blog, I think it is a user-friendly one when it comes to ease of use and navigation. firstly, the menu bar at the top of  the page allows the audience to get what they want to know. Secondly,  the web links are embedded in the page. Finally, the search bar at the right of the blog helps the visitors search easily.

😏Target Audience
It is clear that the whole blog aims for teachers who focus on young learners in their field. no matter the apps or the games, they all help motivate young learners' autonomy and motivation to learn language.

😎Summary

I really appreciate this blog. To begin with, it gives me some suggestion about how to create a well-organised blog. Secondly,  I am inspired by her designed apps and games. maybe in the future, I will adopt them into my own teaching experience.

💟 Here is a YouTube clip about blogging and I hope it is conducive for you.

  1. Your blog also gives me such comfort with pinky wall colour and vivid emojis. :)

  2. Hi Ada! This is a beautiful, restful blog theme and I like your quirky use of emojis as bullet points which personalises your headings nicely. Your review has a question as a title which is a good idea and your post is the answer to that question - yes! Well done for embedding a useful video on blog design into your first post. One issue is that you have given your whole blog the name of your first post 'Review of Ozge's Blog' - you should edit that to make your blog name one that covers all your posts this term. I also wonder whether the picture of lipstick is a good theme for all your posts? I suggest a picture the is related to ICT or teaching would fit the theme better.
